Our gaming highlights of 2019

The end is near! Fortunately, it’s only the end of a year and after finding out what the zeuz team is playing during the Christmas holidays, we wanted to know what their gaming highlight was in this year and what they are looking forward to in 2020.

Tom Loske

This year with games like “Resident Evil 2”, “Kingdom Hearts III”, “Metro Exodus”, “Death Stranding”, and “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” we had a lot of hits that should not be missed. But what were the gaming highlights for our team? And what is the team looking forward to in the next year?

Fallout 76 could have been my highlight of 2019, but The Outer Worlds was way better. We won’t get Half-Life 3 in 2020, but Half-Life Alyx is fine, too.

My highlight in 2019 was the Anthem open demo. The Engine, feel, sound stage and play style were great. For 2020 I’m looking forward to playing Path of Exile 4.0, as it has the potential to fully rival Diablo 4 and I don’t like Blizzard anymore.

My gaming highlight for 2019 is Mordhau for sure. There are not many games that can give you the sensation of winning solo against four Knights and two Caveman in an epic sword battle.
As for games coming out in 2020, I am looking forward to getting my hands on Iron Harvest! Being able to play as giant dieselpunk mechs in an RTS sound really appealing to me. Furthermore, I am looking to play Chivalry 2. Because it does not end with 500 hours on Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. There are many more to come.”

My highlight of 2019 definitely is Call of Duty mobile! Being a child of the CounterStrike 1.6 era, I had some serious doubts if it’s feasible to create a good shooter for mobile. But what can I say, the fun outweighs the frustration of not having a mouse for aiming 😉 For 2020, that’s Half-Life: Alyx. I have not had much contact to VR gaming yet, but when Mister Freeman calls for your help, you do not hesitate.

My gaming highlight in 2019 was Devil May Cry 5! Crazy soundtrack, really good gameplay and best of all… it was released on PC, too. For 2020 I’m exited for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne (PC), Doom Eternal, Chivalry 2, Path of Exile 2, Cyberpunkt 2077, Dragon Ball Z: Kararot, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, Dying Light 2, Aquanox Deep Descent and many titels that I probably forgot. Can’t wait for 2020!

The most I’m looking forward to in 2020 definitely is the PlayStation 5!

I personally played most of the year Nintendo Switch games. With my children, it is the easiest way of enjoying great content. Currently, we do have Pokemon Sword and Luigi’s Mansion in the heavy rotation.
In terms of PC games, I started Destiny 2 again on Stadia some weeks ago as well as Farming Simulator 2019. From my perspective, the year wasn’t too exciting when it comes to multiplayer games. Still Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is an all-time favorite. I will check-out SCUM v0.3 for sure and also look into the new DayZ map. I am very much looking forward to 2020 seeing more great games converting to Nintendo’s Switch.

We are thankful for this crazy gaming year and are very looking forward to what 2020 will bring with brand new releases of hot titles and new hardware!
